Fines from crushing stone at a pit. Here in the northeast, they mix the fines with crushed stone for driveways and call it ledgepak.

We used stone dust as lime. Cheaper.

Limestone screenings are used in place of sand around here.
The screenings are used for the final base under the pavers.

Definitely. Takes much longer to break down and help with soil PH. But will work eventually. :)

The owner of a quarry was a friend of dads, he would generally bring a load every year. We didnt have a fel, so we had to shovel it into the spreader.

Isn't it funny how the most labor intensive chores back then are the fondest memories now.

We scooped all of the feed for our hog operation. 700-800 fat hogs raised per year. I have great memories of doing that. When I was a teenager Dad bought an auger wagon. I don't have any such memories of using it.

I agree and that's why I'm using the polymer.

I have pavers in Florida on driveway and lanai and we constantly have to kill weeds and spray mold on the north side. I did use the home despot's polymer there but put the pavers are tight and that junk didn't work.

PS, you are old! :D

I first learned how to do Pennsylvania Bluestone in 1980 in Princeton NJ. An old black dude, 64 years old taught me, his name was Bill Grey. I was 22. Me and Bill were a good team. Now, I'm 1 1/2 years from 64 myself.... WTH????
