Finally I have seen one. Looks well made heavy duty, Tried just for fun and I can spin it with two fingers. I am told it is made by RAD. Big four blade fan on 54" model. Substantial price 2895.00 Nice looking. Maybe some day I can afford one.

So they are made by RAD heh? RAD also makes the Kubota units....just bought a Blizzard (RAD's house brand) because the Deere dealer couldnt give me ANY info on the blowers...not even an ETA.
This year (08/09) RAD updated their design...iMatch ready, etc.. I can see why now..

I was told for 2009, they have the JD name on them and JD makes them. My dealer offered me a $150 off on the 2008 model which he claims is the same unit. I saw both and I like the 2009 model as they have the standard yellow rims and JD name on it.

Its a wire felt from a paper mill/paper making machine. The best & easiest way to describe what it is would be a big piece of "fabric" woven with 200lb test fishing line. Its tougher then nails....we put it there when we built the hosue temporarily until we pave the driveway. It helps keeps all the sand/grit/junk from tracking into the house. Yes I leave it there year-round...I just have to be a little more careful on it...backblading is fine, seriously you can easily back blade 24" of snow off it, its like teflon...snow & ice doesnt stick.

You guys should be happy if the new blowers are made by R.A.D. ! They make nice stuff. I'm currently on my second R.A.D. made front blower and they are built like tanks. I'm curious to see what type of subframe they will have...... the front quick hitch on my current Kubota is well thought out and easy to remove and install the blower (or any other front attachment). Not knocking Deere's current/past front blowers, but for sure no one will be calling the R.A.D. made units a step backward. I just installed R.A.D.s hydraulic chute deflector on mine, and the kit is as nice as everything else R.A.D. makes.

Ductape...The new JD/RAD blowers are rear 3pt units..not front mounts...the front mounts are still the same as they've always been. So theres no "subframe"...although I can say that the 3pt Blizzard/Kubota & now apparently Deere blowers are all the same minus paint...My Deere dealer isnt carrying the Deere blowers...hes got the Martin/Meteor junk in stock.

LOL..no problem, The RAD blowers really are the best.... IMO, Pronovost USED to be the king of the hill, but their specs (mainly fan diameter) really leave alot to be desired...Pronovost build quality is still great though.
