New front end finish mower for 1025R, maybe 2025R, others

The local JD dealer here in Charlottesville seems to be pushing a new front end finish mower that attaches where the FEL goes. They've pictures showing how easy it is to put on, and they have one mounted on a 1025R our front.

The parts people had no idea how power got to it. So, I checked the one out front. Yeah, it's where the FEL went, but there's no power to it. Looks as though it needs a power beyond line to its (looks like) hydraulic motor. That would be a long line and would require installation of power beyond.

Anyone have one?

Pretty cool idea! I'm surprised no one actually has a front mounted mower for a SCUT. Seems like it would make perfect sense, since you normally take the FEL off to mow anyway.

I have a 272 finish mower on my 4300 now, and have no intention of removing the FEL..
Maybe I am missing something that dalola knows.

FEL not in the way, and is a counter balance to the weight of the 272, as I see it. And a half hour to an hour of mowing, a lot of acreage has been covered.

To the OP, what is the model no. of the front end finish mower?

I'm referring to SCUT's with belly mowers, not CUT's with RFM's. Regardless, I don't think anything exists.

Yep, I've seen both of those.

EA, or other equipment co's, if you're listening.... How about a 60" finish mower that would attach via the FEL SSQA. It should run on gauge wheels with the FEL in float mode, somehow run off the mid-PTO. Maybe similar to a front snow blower. Do it for $3-4K, I'll be your first customer! That would be so cool. :cool2:

Hyd. motor would take a lot of hyd. pump gpm I think for a 60" deck. Just curious...

As I eluded to previously, run it off the mid PTO like a snow blower. I agree, I don't think a SCUT would have the hydro capacity to run a hydro mower effectively, but maybe I'm wrong on that?

That was painful to watch, and I sped through it to see if he ever stopped talking and actually used it. Nope, just a lot of talking without ever cutting grass with it.
