Just wanted to introduce myself. No tractor or farm...yet. My better half and I would like to have at least 100 acres one day(preferably 300+). We started out wanting 5 or 10.

I could use a tractor now to bush hog a small lot (6 acres) and smooth out some driveways, but it's really not enough work to justify buying one at this time. In the meantime I read and research.

I really could get away with renting when I actually need a tractor but I decided to have some fun and get my own anyway.
I did rent what I needed for several years from the Ft Worth Kubota dealer. If you're in N Texas they will rent just about anything you could need pretty reasonable so long as you have the truck to pull it.

I am in NE Texas close to Longview.

It's kinda funny, a guy I hired last year to bush hog 2 separate places mowed the first and when he didn't mow the other for 3 months I called to at least pay for the first. He said he wouldn't take any money until both were mowed. It's been over a year and I haven't seen or heard from him.

If I keep getting work done for free I might not ever need to buy a tractor.
