I joined because my wife and I are looking at land and I will need a tractor to do general chores and maintain a long gravel driveway.

Things worth considering - length of driveway and will you be maintaining it - how much mowing and of what type(lawn, rough cut, crops) - landscaping - firewood - gardens. These are some of the type activities that will help determine the size of tractor and implements required.

as it stands we are looking at around 8 acres wooded, the driveway will be about 800' long and include an area in front of a 24x36 shop. probably have some landscaping and a smaller yard to mow and maybe brush hogging along the driveway.

To the TBN forum Tamer. We are glad that you joined.

You have sure come to the right place as we love to spend other people's money.

I would recommend that you get a tractor for bush hogging, maintaining the driveway, etc. and a riding mower for lawn care.

You should go to different dealers and drive all the tractors that you think that you might be interested in before you actually buy.

we have not purchased the land yet.
