1967 Ford 4000
Just bought what is suppose to be a 1967 ford 4000 diesel with a 730 series 19-532 FEL, bigger than what I need and have a few questions for later. Never owned a tractor, but it was my favorite place to sleep as a kid when pop was plowing in the 70's in north Fl.

Thanks for the welcome all. There is a lot of information/ knowledge here

mddorange-I only have 3.5 acres for now in Loganville, plan on cleaning up a few areas fence line that became a tree line, straighten out the drive, mow some, maybe garden some, also clean the old tractor up eventually making look/ operate like new.

Sounds like you have a lot of work to do. Did you get any implements with it? I used to live in Snellville back in the late 80's. Boy how things have changed over that way.

So what are your questions on that fine old workhorse?

Thanks for the welcome again all.

mddorange- Yeh this whole area has gotten out of control, the family moved here in the early 80's it's way different now. Hopefully the wife will move with me when I move way way way out LOL. Unfortunately I did not get any implements I am shopping though.

soundguy- right now she looks more like a warhorse than a work horse regardless it is a fine machine. Some of the questions are related to the model serial numbers, some technical found & spliced burnt wires , don't fully trust the cooling system yet gauge hits red pretty quick after splicing the wires( before nothing), more difficult steering right even with PS, PTO never stops even with the 2x4 test, need to dig into the FEL more. There are more but I want to gather my thoughts findings and search what is here then post in a more appropriate section of the forum ( Ford/New Holland?). A good place to find a shop & parts manual seem to be of the most important currently are the CD's or PDF's any good? or am I better off with the expensive hard copy? Epay?

It's funny the old Ford is like a time machine, I remember riding over the field with my go cart after pop plowed it poor go cart, and probably the most dangerous place I ever slept between him and the fender as he plowed. people would go to jail over that now LOL.

Thanks all New post to come with questions and pics.
