I've been lurking here off and on for a few years about questions my dad had, but the man knew just about everything so I never signed up. Well he recently passed away and we are now in charge of handling all this equipment that he knew so well.

To help compensate for the tractors that need some much needed TLC, My mom recently got a Kubota m7040 to do all the stuff our other tractors can't. We also have a CASE 885 and a Little Ford 1100 that both need work to them as well, but at least the little Ford still runs.

I have borrowed the M35 to to do some field and yard maintenance at my place and to hopefully fix it up a little bit.

Here are some pics of 'as it is now' and hope to get it to a nice "farm tractor" again!

Welcome to TBN from Missouri. Sorry for your loss. My wife's grand father had one of those old Masey Fergusons and while it looked pretty rough by the time of his passing, it was stilling running strong.

:welcome: from Tennessee.

Those old 35's are great tractors. If you wanted to spruce it up, there are parts readily available for it. I read around here and many have restored thier old farm pet. Good luck with yours. ~robert

Thanks for all the thoughts and welcomes! I totally forgot I posted here as I have had no time to do anything with the tractor besides watch it sit. This "extreme drought" we are classified in now has me in no hurry to work on it as it is just too hot by the time I get off work and there is no grass to mow right now LOL!

As far as restoration goes, I have become quite fond of the "rust" and abuse so I may just freshen it up and slap some clear on it to keep that "old" wornout look going for it.

Lately I have been scouring this from and those over at garagejournal and other places on the net for the best possible way to construct a cheap pole barn (not a fancy shop like so many have), but just something simple to store hay in. My mother asked me about it so I am doing some research on diy kits that come with everything to me sourcing my own materials and doing it that way. The one thing I know we want is steel trusses; maximize space and on the used market they are pretty cheap. So I am just weighing my options. Seems like the most expensive part of a barn these days is the actual tin that goes on it.

I hope everyone stays safe out there in this heat and take some serious precautions on wildfire dangers. My heart sinks to all those who have lost their homes in CO and something like that can happen hear super easy right now. I'm just praying for rain and for no one to get hurt.
