There is no doubt that Cub is headed in the right direction. They have finally figured out what makes John Deere the company they are...brand marketing. Cub for years has had amazing products, now more than ever. Their lawn and garden line-up dollar for dollar are the best machines on the market. Their zero turn line-up can't be touched by any other manufacturer. Their commercial series are gaining popularity because they are truly one of the very best commercial ZTR's on the market. Cub is now starting to do things to bring brand awareness up throughout the nation.
Love it or hate it Cub Cadet will be in the big box stores...and that is fine with me. Cub Cadet has flourished from the big box stores in two ways. First it has made Cub Cadet a household name. Secondly it has given Cub Cadet (who acts as an independent division within MTD) money to concentrate on other products (utility vehicles, commercial ZTR's, compact tractors). Also as a dealer it ensures parts and repair pay-offs down the road. Our second location that is opening this week is only a few miles down the road from the big box stores but that doesn't concern me the least.
Cub Cadet is the fastest growing outdoor power equipment brand in the industry, that is a fact. They are the only outdoor power equipment brand that has posted double digit growth over the past three years (other big names have lost market share, mainly to Cub). They are doing all the right things and making all the right moves.
