I pulled the trigger and bought a new DK-45 HST, loaded R4's, loader. The wife and I are heading out early in the morning to pick it up. I probably won't get much sleep tonight, kinda like being a kid and listening for sleigh bells on the roof at Christmas. We should be back home by noon to 1pm to give it a work out. I post some pics tommorow night.

Congrats and Welcome to the Pack!

That DK45 is a beast! I can't imagine having that kind of loader capacity.

The wife and I went to Ohio and pick up our tractor. The dealer also had a used 6 ft box blade in good shape so I snatched that too. We got home kinda late so I didn't get a lot of seat time but what I did all I can say is WOW. I am really impressed with the loader capacity. In all I put about 2 hours on it yesterday eve, now I need some seat time to learn the tractors limitations. I did to manage to hang it up already, I came down off a steep hill and right at the bottom it was really soft from all the rain we have had. THe 45 woudn't back up the hill, so I used the loader to wiggle out and picked my way through the woods and got out. Here are a few picks. BTW the wife thinks her tractor is sexy.

Looks great!

Careful working it too hard while still breaking in the engine. You want to try and vary the engine rpms, don't lug down the motor below 2k and don't exceed PTO rpms until at least the 50 hr service is done.

Have Fun!

I got a few more hours of seat time today. Getting a feel for it. Between rains I graded the road with box blade which turned out very well. Then I moved approximately 20 yrds of dirt and spead it out of about 1/2 acre. I am impressed more each time I use it. One thing the does have me scratching my head is the draft control. What pin do you all use for the top link, top, middle, bottom?

I use the middle hole when connecting my boxblade but only because I don't see much difference in using one over the other. The real adjustment is in the length of the top link.

I suggest that you read your owners manual to know how to properly use the draft control. The different top link hole positions have two purposes. Change the geometry of the 3pt hitch and to change how sensitive the draft control is. I don't have your tractor, so I can't really help out with what does what, sorry.

Yea, Would you believe I forgot to get owners manual and salesman forgot to give it to me too. He called me when I was almost home when he remembered it. He is going to mail it this week.

There is a decal on the back the says to use the middle or bottom for draft control but it dosen't say which is most sensitive. I guess good ol trial and error is up to bat.

Thanks everyone. I keep posted what I find.
