Have you guys also seen the new electric gator by deere? The dealer has one and they are pretty impressive.

Kmack, from what I've seen in the pictures they look pretty impressive. It appears according to the spec sheet that Deere stayed with Kawasaki for the gasoline powered tractors. I trust Yamnar continues supplying the diesel. The tread on the 4 wheel drive looks a little like the ATV tire or the tire on the JD Gator. It looks like they turned the hydraulic couplers so they are parallel with the frame insted of perpendicular. The spec sheet suggests they are about the same size as the old 430 garden tractor. Does anyone know what the lever to the right of the seat is? Does anyone know if the front mounted attachmens from the current 400 series will fit the new tractors?

It's called the E-Gator Bird. I thought it would be like a golf cart but the thing has some real power. I was impressed with it. It was about the same price as a regular gator.

We may even be using electric tractors before long. I was just reading an article in the new Texas Co-op Power magazine about the new hybrid cars and pickups coming out soon, including a 4x4 Dodge Durango and pickup (2003 & 2004).

You're right, the tire tread does look a lot like an atv tire. Seems to me that it would tear up your yard. This is just a guess, but I think that lever by the seat is probably the 4x4 engagement, but I could be wrong. They are really neat looking, and I am gonna have to check them out a little closer next spring when I go out to purchase a new deere.

I think that lever is for the cruise control, like on other deeres. But I could be wrong too. Cliff
