Hello all

Just picked up a 2006 John Deere 3320 with 300X loader and "ehydro"
with 200hrs for $15,500 (excellent shape)

What a great tractor - I could not be more pleased with the purchase

This unit is replacing my Yanmar 240D (about a 1980 model year)

Hopefully I did not overpay

Looked at new ones - in my area they run about 26K for the same unit

Thinking about adding a rear light kit and rear hydraulics
any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Ron

Hey Ron
Welcome to TBN:)
Congrats on your new machine.
The one piece of advice I will give is maintenance.
Unless the service schedule of your machine can be verified,IMO,I would change every filter and all the fluids just for peace of mind.

Yeah, you did fine with the price...but what we think doesn't matter.
As long as YOU are happy with the deal, that's all that counts!! Right?

Welcome to TBN...

Thanks to all

I'm thrilled with the 3320

Big step up from Yanmar 240D

Anyone have experience adding a rear work light
JD wants $55 for the kit - seems kinda pricey to me

I'm planning on getting an LED light with a toggle switch and tap into
the rear clearance lights
That should work - I think ?

Also ordered a canopy - almost a necessity here in AZ

Thanks

I'm not real enthusiastic with LED lamps...just not much light out of 'em...

As far as the Deere lamp...if it's the same as I have on the back of my 4400, they're pretty bright (see attached pic).
And the kit is a straight up plug-in...

Thanks for the pics

Just put two lights on today

Picked up a couple of really nice lights today at NAPA for $11 each
Tapped into a line behind the seat mounted the lights on the ROPS

Worked great - very bright light
Went the non-LED route

Only issue the rear lights are always on when I have the front lights on
Will eventually put them on a toggle switch
(no a big deal since I will virtually never be on the highway)

Thanks

The toggle switches might be the easiest way to go, but the lights switch on the dash does have a provision for the front and rear lights on at the same time (this would be a "field" position as some state laws don't allow bright lights pointing aft on roads). I guess Deere figures if it's dark enough to use the work lights, the headlamps should be on too.
If you have the service manual for your tractor (or can ask the Deere dealer for a copy of the wiring schematic), you might be able to wire them up like to work directly of the factory switch.

BTW, I'd like to take credit for those nice lamps on my 4400. But it was the original owner who had them installed as an option when he bought the machine in 2000 or 2001. I sure do like 'em though...great when I'm plowing snow!

Thanks for the good word

I searched for a year and a half
this was the best deal I could find

Bought if from a retired farmer outside of Dallas
He said he only used it on 1/2 acre garden (he never really did any heavy duty farming with it )
He really babied it -
It was in outstanding shape - just like a new one

I couldn't be more please !!!!!!!

Congratulations on your new machine. Setting the wheels / tires to the wide position will give better stability.

The smaller of the two holes in the top of the loader mast is a good place to mount a couple of convex rear view mirrors. A little piece of 3/8" ID clear plastic tube makes a good spacer to fill the hole and depending on the mirrors may be the perfect size for the mirror mounting stud.
