New deck spindles

Replaced deck spindles. How free should they spin? I have to turn them pretty hard to rotate. Never messed with them before because the spindle brakes were engaged.

They’re pretty firm especially if the belt is on.

Take the belt off and they should rotate easily.

No belt was on it at that time. Since then I have taken it back apart, greased everything and torqued the blade/ pulley bolts and everything works perfectly. Mowed today. Happy with the deck. Thanks for all the suggestions.
