Well after countless hours driving past the local dealer and reading posts on this site I finaly got my new tractor. My birthday is coming up in the next few weeks and my wife asked me what I wanted so I gave he the ads that I had gotten out of the news paper. Well I came home from work last night and there it was sitting out by the barn with two big bows on it. I must be about the luckest man around. It's a bx2200, 60" mmm, FEL, backblade, and ballest box. Well the salesman came out today and showed me how everything works. After he left I mowed what took me 3-4 hours in less than 2 hours Yea!!!! My question is the mower has the dial that adjusts the mower height it has numbers for the inchs and one that says TOP, can I mow with the mower in the TOP setting or does this put the driveshaft to the mower at a bad angle?

Tommy; What a lucky guy! You will love your BX. I have has mine for over two years now without a problem, and I still get a smile everytime I look at it.
I not sure about your question. The top position is to "unsuspend" the MMM to give a solid rest for transport, loader work, etc. I do know that it is very cramped between the MMM and the frame in that position. Perhaps a wiser owner will answer.

As an FYI/clarification - The TOP position is used to lock the mower deck in the uppermost position. This will prevent it from dropping if you lower the 3ph. Also, DON'T try to turn that knob to the TOP position unless you have used the lift lever to raise the deck all the way to the top first. If you are heavy-handed (like me) you can put enough force on that knob to break it while trying to get it into the TOP position if the deck isn't already raised all the way.

I mow at the top setting all the time in the meadow. No problems at all.
