Here's a couple of shots of the new BX23.

Great shots Dave. Looks like the FEL pins might have a new retaining method. The pics look a lot like the same method used in the backhoe travel pin.

What type of tires are mounted on that BX in those pictures? It looks like they are the R1w's instead of the r-4. I am looking to purchase an L3830 in the next month or so and I really want a wide stance but need the hillside traction of R1's but I have not been able to find a dealer who had R1W's for the 3830.
Thanks
Chieff

Dave........ Thanks for posting the pictures...... now that I see what it looks like, I am glad that I didn't wait and bought a BX22. I like the look of the FEL control better on the BX22 better than the new design.... Maybe it will grow on me in a couple of months, but not enough to consider trading my old one it...... It just turned 24 hours today..... and getting its first oil change tomorrow..... Tractors are sometimes like wives..... the new models look flashy at first, but the old one is still the keeper.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice pictures. Besides the FEL control, what are some of the other changes? Anything major?

The seat looks to have a bit more padding and others have posted that the hood lock/release is a bit different. All in all, didn't look like a lot of changes, if you liked it before, you'll like it again!

My dealer told me that the new models will raise/move hydraulics much faster at idle. With my BX2200, you have to raise the throttle to get the FEL to move with any speed...supposedly they changed that with the BX2230....

The tires look like the standard "bar" tires on my BX-22, sort of a cross between R-4's and R-1's.

Some folks call these tires "bar-turfs"...they somewhat look like bar (ag) tires, but are real floaters when you are out doing the mowing thing. You get the grip when you need it and the gentle touch otherwise. I've never seen this kind of tire on any of the larger machines.

Is the engine the same displacement and horsepower? I would think that the HP was now 23 based on the BX1500, BX1800 and the B2xxx Series Compact tractors labeling these past few years.
