New bucket options Yanmar 155d

Hello, brand new to forum, just bought my first tractor, Yanmar 155d. I’ve searched posts for answer but was unable to find cause I hate to post about things answered multiple times. The loader seems original and the bucket is a bit worn and a little small. I know you can’t move big loads but I was wondering about getting new bucket. Does it need to be older, original type that someone may have available or can a newer one that will fit be purchased and from whom? Secondarily do they make an adapter plate to where you can use a quick attach feature for different loader options or is it not worth it?

The 155D and the YM1500D are both 15Hp. Eng, Fredricks equipment refurbishes the 1500 and they use a Koyker loader. 80. You can find those specs. on that loader will give you a Idea of what size to use. I have a YM2000 and used a rear scoop for over a deacade with it. Worked really well and cost effective.

If you can weld, it is pretty easy to fix up a worn bucket if you need to. Unless you are moving lots of leaves, I don't think that I would be rushing to increase the size; what is it that you want to do that makes the existing bucket small?

I had to weld on the Fords Bucket. Not very good at it but rather easily done. El.Cheapo Harbor frieght!! Broke off 6" of the bucket bar prev. owner replaced. The buckets only 4' wide but I have 48Eng. HP.. That's the problem being so small of a tractor is the ground Weight. I'm only 2WD. but the rear tires are loaded so traction has never been a problem. Being so small of a tractor size 4wd. will help the front end from getting damaged. And traction.

I find a plasma cutter makes quick work of bucket repairs. I badly bent the cutting edge on one of my buckets, and replaced the cutting edge with one about six times stronger, but had to do some nip and tuck surgery on the bucket skin to get it flat again. I had fun.

Thanks for the replies, truly appreciate the help! I do not weld so I know that will limit my options. I can use what is there but if possible I wanted upgrade the bucket within a limited budget. I’ve reached out to Fredricks Equip and they’re seeing if they have something that may work for me. I’ll you know if that pans out. Very happy with my tractor, it will serve me well. This community is an amazing resource and huge blessing for people like me, again thank you!

I don't see anything wrong with that bucket. Those of us who were around 40 years ago, all agree we were better looking then compared to now. Same thing for our Yanmars. . I wouldn't change it. A bucket with greater capacity will just stress the front axle more. In fact I see repair welds on the loader's arm, somebody overloaded it in the past.

But I do see an issue: - your front tires look larger than the original spec. If this is the case, it would stress everything in the driveline. Here's a post discussing tire size.

Thanks for pointing that out, I would’ve not known that. Seller gave me another set of wheels and I did notice the extra front wheels were smaller then ones on tractor. I’ll swap them out for correct size.
