I just ordered a 2016 Branson 3515H. I hope I made the right choice.

:welcome:
To the TBN forum RPott. We are glad that you decided to join with us here. That is a decent sized tractor. What will you be using it for, how much land? Please post pictures when it arrives.

It will be fine. I picked up a 4520R a few months ago and am quite happy with it. Had a kubota for 20 years as well and the Branson is a much heavier machine. Wight = Traction

Enjoy

CONGRATS!

Someone on here was giving advice (for making the right choice of model) to sit down and make a list of all the things you would like to do with it. If you are married, your wife will likely enjoy operating the "H" model you ordered, as well.

The 1.7 liter A1700 engine is a Cummins product. It starts easily & runs smooth. You will find it has far more power than the chassis really needs!

At 3,014 lbs., you may consider adding some weight to the tractor if you will be working it hard. The loader adds about 700-750 lbs? A "ballast box" (basically, a box or drum filled with rocks/gravel) in the rear will offset the loader bucket when carrying heavy loads. It won't be needed if all you ever do is mow lawns, though.

Mine almost always has something attached to the back: Box Blade, Post hole digger, carry-all, boom pole, pasture shredder, trenching ripper, etc. etc.... I use it almost daily!

Put some RimGuard in the rear tires to give you the extra weight on the back of the tractor. The extra weight does not add extra bulk to the back as carrying around an attachment for weight would. Invisible weight.

I went down to Walmart when they had a sale on -20 windshield washer fluid and bought 100 gallons for filling my rear tires. Your tractor would take less. Windshield washer fluid is little less weight than Rimguard, but just a fraction of the cost. Cheaper, safer, and about the same weight as anti-freeze too. It works just fine for ballast. Filling the tires wasn't that hard to do. Go to the Rimguard website to figure out how much fluid your tire size takes. I used the pto pump on my 3 point herbicide sprayer to fill the tires, but you can get a cheap pump at Harbor Freight if needed. The fittings to fill tires are fairly common too. Just look up a Slime 20073 Air and water adapter on Amazon.
By the way, You will love your Branson!

Did you get the loader with it? Adding weight will help with loader work and you can choose 3pt mounted weight, load the rear tires or both. If you are going to drive on the lawn much 3pt mounted weight has the advantage of being easily removeable. Loaded tires offer hidden weight but it's always there.

I'm not loading my tires as I need to drive across my lawn a fair bit and will use a weight barrel. My old Kubota never saw grass and had loaded tires. The choice is yours and it depends a lot on how you will be using the tractor.

Thanks for the responses. I will be using it mostly for dirt work with a 500lb gannon on the back. I have a 2 acre hobby farm and a 5 acre parcel up in the forest to develop and maintain. I will be doing some new road building on the forest property. I also expect some type of grapple attachment for the front may be useful in clearing the forest property underbrush. I chose the 3515 over the 3520 for the smaller dimensions to better navigate around and through my barn and stall buildings.
