New Blitz Enviro-flow Spout - Anyone tried it yet?

When we last went to Canada I picked up a dozen spouts which I have been installing on gas cans that we have here. The spouts look like this and have a place for gas to go down and a place for air to go back up.
The best part is that they have NO MOVING PARTS. Well worth it IMO.

I hate the new style. I have a number of those spouts that I'd trade for the old type that can't be bought here anymore.

Is this about the Blitz containers where you have to push the little lock button back and then squeeze the lever to get the fuel to flow? If it is, allow me to say that I hate it more than any other single fuel container I have ever used in my life. If it's supposed to keep fumes from leaking out, what happens when you use it? THE FUMES LEAK OUT. They are going to come out sooner or later no matter what.

I'd like to see somebody design one that actually works well. Whoever designed the Blitz setup obviously has never had to hold the can up above a tractor hood while using it...

Fueled my new GC 2610 TLB today for the first time. I was forced to use one of the new nozzles that has the air tube in it. I'm sure glad I was able to just get the nozzle in and then rest the can on it's side on the fender. Took forever to empty the 5 gal. of fuel. I will be spending some time to rig up a gravity feed from a larger container.

it seems none of the new cans work very well regardless of brand. its kinda funny how years ago the metal osha approved safety cans seemed like such a pain to use, now they are some of the easiest to use gas cans available! a few years ago i was at a discount store in new hampshire and they had the pre epa gas cans, ya know the good old ones with a vent, i bought like a half dozen of each size and stashed them away so i will be able to have working gas cans for years to come. also whenever i see normal gas cans in the trash, i work for a garbage hauling company, i save the old style nozzles since they thread on the same as the new ones. the vent can be added easily with a tire valvestem and you have a gas can that works! i often just take the spout off and pour right outa the can with the new or old style gas cans and use the metal funnel we have that locks right into the fuel tank neck on our ford tractors

You'd be surprised how useful these are for transferring fuel:

601KWK Battery Powered Kerosene Pump - eBay (item 280434706759 end time Dec-01-10 07:48:36 PST)

Battery operated kerosene pump. Set that fuel can down, stick the pump in and pump it where you want. No lifting, no drifting, maybe use mrfunnel for sifting if you want.

There are two sizes of these pumps, the larger D cell operated ones intake unit might not fit into a NATO 5 gal can but they do fit into most all plastic or other metal ones.

There is only one good one I have found: No-Spill I heard good things about them from chainsaw folks and finally ordered one for myself a few weeks back (2.5 gal size for saw mix gas). They are awesome. Put the spount in, and push a thumb button for either perfect control on small tanks or lightning fast fill on big ones. They meet the stupid EPA regs but are actually an improvement, too! Can't say enough good things as I was forced to buy a couple of the crappy ones before I found out about these.

I ordered mine from Baileys Husqvarna Chainsaws, Outdoor Power Equipment and Tree Care Supplies from Bailey's but you can find them at Ace hardware and other places too.

After pushing the lock collar in and slipping off of the plastic tank of my snowblower, I can agree, these new cans suck! Oh and I spilled about a cup of gas on the side of the blower and ground. I'd have to say that one incident probably released more vapors than all other gas related filling operations I've done in the past.

They are trash. Thankfully I have about 6 of the old 6 gallon style. What happens when you break the valve on the new can? And how many of you have already lost the little plastic tube? That is after you had to fish it out of the can the first time you used it. Speaking from experience. :)

I have the same one in a 1 1/4 gallon size that I use for my 2 cycle mix. It is the best I've found for filling small tanks since you have so much control, even better than old designs. I don't know how they would work in the large size though.

I see they were smart enough to put a second handle on the back of the 5 gal size. That size is always fun to handle when full, so that should help a lot, though I don't have one yet. I'll probably get a couple 5 gal ones for diesel when I need to. For now my tractor lives on the trailer, so I just drive it to the pump at the end of the day when it needs filling up.

The 2.5 gal is Wunderbar! When you want them to fill your tank fast, just push all the way and let it rip! I'd say it's as fast a gas station nozzle, as best I can tell.
