Kubota B7800
Hello all
As the name might imply, I'm new to the forum and to compact tractors. I just purchassed a new B7800 with a loader and BH75 hoe. I only have about 10 hours on the tractor and maybe 6 on the hoe. I've noticed the boom and backhoe bucket leaking down (no external leakage). I talked to the dealer. They indicated it is normal. In fact the boom cylinder may leak off at a rate not to exceed 2 inches of cylinder rod movement in five minutes. This seems very extreem to me. Mine does not come close to that rate of leakage. Does anyone have any advise? I can live with a little leakage but I hope it never gets to 2 inch per five minute period.

HE's right that they they do leak down and there are not two the same. Some might even hold for extended periods, they do have pins to hold the booms in place to stop or to keep the cylinders from shock loads while not using the backhoe.

Thanks Art. I guess I'll have to just hope it doesn't get too bad.

I have a similar set-up. I keep the boom locked, the bucket leaks down a little and the stabilizer rams leak down maybe an inch or less of ram travel when in the full up position then stop when storing it connected to the tractor. Kind of surprised me the first time I disconnected though, left it maybe 18" in the air resting on the stabilizers and bucket, next morning it was sitting on the ground.

Same here, I even took it back to dealer when I first got it and posted here about it, everyone told me the same, normal. I always keep the pin in when i am not using the hoe and all is well.

Thanks guys. It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one that has the same experience. I know now that I'll just have to accept that the machine is not perfect.

It's close enough to perfect. Just about all hydraulics leak down if stored under load. Look at a parked airplane sometime.

Best practice is to just park it with implements on the ground.
