Tractor
Kuota B7800
They just delivered my new B7800, Woods 1008 FEL, & Woods 7500 BH.

Now all I need is a trailer. I have been thinking a dump trailer but will have to measure my set-up with the BH turned sideways. Will probably also have to hang the FEL on, or over the side.

Hopefully a 6'x12' low - profile will work. Don't want to get "too" big, I will be pulling it with a 1/2 ton GMC.

p.s. Thanks to everyone on this site. I have learned alot in the last few months while deciding which tractor/size to buy.

The smaller trailer I use is a a 6' by 14' trailer and think that might be about as short as you could go. I know a B2910 (same size/weight as a B7800) with FEL & box blade will fit on the 6' by 14' without much room to spare, so if you hang the FEL over the front a bit, you might get buy with a 6' by 14' but I doubt you'd be able to do it with a 6' by 12'. **remember you need to center the load weight on the trailer so you need a bit of wiggle room** By the way, it is a dual axle, electric brake, 7000# trailer.

Nice outfit! I too was looking at a FatBoy or the Kubota. Figured the Kubota was money better spent, and the wife agreed .

One of these days I'd like to add the BH. Enjoy.

Do you mind me asking what that rig is worth. I was thinking about getting the same set up with a mid mount mower added for good measure.

Good call on the Harley vs. Kubota tractor! I sold my 1998 Harley FLSTS Heritage Springer with 3000 miles to purchase my Kubota Grand L3430 Tractor. The Harley was a "mid-life" thing, the Kubota fulfills a passion. I use the Kubota year-a-round and don't miss the Harley at all. Well, maybe, some days but I get over it quickly by going out and doing something with my tractor.

The great thing about the Harley was I sold it for less than $2000 off my purchase price. I am confident that my Kubota tractor will resale every bit as well if I should ever decide to sell it.

Enjoy your new Kubota!

Bob S -

I think you are right, the 6'x14' is the way to go.

I looked at the Bri-Mar trailers locally. Not sure what the other local dealers carry yet. What manufacturer do you have?

Botabill -

$21,500 with the FEL (60"bucket), BH (16" bucket), Block Heater, R4 tires, grill guard, & folding ROPs.

My 6' by 14' is just a locally made unit by a guy with a welder who sells them through 2 or 3 dealers around here, no brand name. The quality is "good enough" for the minimal use it gets, but if my job depended on it I would look at the aluminum "Featherlite" trailers, those are very well built and light to tow too.

We did have to beef up the rear of it after I tore the end off while unloading some pallets of stone /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif (a pallet of stone snagged the end plate while I was driving down the ramp and broke the welds at the corners and bent the end piece; repair was cheap and easy, and now it has a bit more reinforcement in back there too).
