Tractor
B7500 / JD 318
After a year of reading and trying to rationalize the purchase of a tractor, I woke-up Saturday morning and decided today was the day. At breakfast, my wife asked what I had planned for the day, I simply said - I think I will go buy a tractor. I purchased a B7500 with a 4672 hoe, 302 FEL, 4ft. hog, 4ft. box, pallet forks, filled R4's and hooks welded on the bucket.

At GregJ's suggestion, I purchased the unit from Mark at Issaquah Kubota. They really are good to deal with and by far, offered the best package price. Tractor arrives this Friday along with a TG1860 with 54" mower deck and trailer for my Dad. Friday is a dayoff for sure!

5string,
Congratulations on your purchase. I hope you will be as happy with yours as I am with mine. I'm also glad things worked out with Mark. He's taken great care of me. Be sure to post any questions you have about your new machine. There's lots of great advice available here. Have fun Friday, although I'm sure you'll be a little sleep deprived by then. I know I didn't sleep the week I had to wait for my tractor.

Enjoy your new tractor. I got my B7500/302FEL/4672BH package in June. It has the folding ROPS. In the attached picture, the turnsignal/flasher lights were originally locaed inside the ROPS, where you see the empty hole on the fender.

When using the backhoe, the original light position prevented adjusting the BH seat back away from the hoe to more comfortable position. The seat would hit the lights.

I moved the lights to the outboard position myself. Originally, in the outward position, there was a second pair of smaller lights. These smaller lights appeared to function the same as the larger ones. I removed them and put the larger ones on the same brackets. The connectors were a little different so I made a set of adapters.

I am curious, what kind of lights came with other 7500/4672 owner's machines?

CBH,
Mine came just like you have yours now. Looking in the owners manual, that is the standard set up. Sounds like you got some extra lights with your B7500.

Greg,

I must have a different owner's manual, here is a closeup of the picture on the front cover. It shows the large inner lights and the smaller outer lights.

Whoa... I guess I have the old fashioned model already. I bought mine in September of 2002. I have attached a scan of the cover of my manual. They must have added the lights in 2003.

5string,
I noticed that you didn't mention a toothbar. That's something to think about. I am really glad I got one and they can add one on pretty cheap. It's a lot easier to have them do it while the tractor is in the shop. Just a thought.

After your done playing on Friday, can you take some pictures
of it and post them? Get one of the hour meter too.... after many years of faithful service, you can look back at that "one" hour. And smile.

Best of luck with it.

In my original post, I neglected to mention that I also purchased the tooth bar for the FEL. When shopping, I had one dealer give me a - what are you talking about look - when I mentioned a tooth bar and another only sold the type that did not protect the edge of the loader. I requested that the FEL hooks be configured the same as yours.

If I remember correctly, the rear lights are installed like cbh described.

As far as questions, I already have one. I am thinking about having a post hole digger added to the order. Can anyone advise me on what the ideal size auger diameter is for the 7500 - 8", 10", 12"? I am sure that I will have additional questions in the near future and look forward to interacting with all of you as an owner.

Greg - While completing the paper work, my Dad and I enjoyed looking at the pictures of your machine in action that Mark has posted next to his desk; they helped to reaffirm my decision. As far as sleep - yes, I have been tossing and turning more than usual. My wife says I have been snoring - I must just be making diesel engine sounds.

I will post pictures as soon as possible (I need to figure out how).
