1994 Kubota B7100 HST 4WD
Howdy folks. I picked up a B7100 and look forward to getting to know this forum and the tractor. I have a few questions and hope this isn't "Overload" for you guys! I'm new to tractors and diesels but have tons of auto experience so hopefully i can catch on.

Any tips on where to start? What kind/weight of oil do I use?

Is the "Operators Manual" good to have? Looking for something that tells basic fluid types/weights, maintenance schedules, and maybe some basic info on tune-ups/maintenance.

Are the multi-tractor IT workshop manuals good or not? Or should I try and find the Kubota shop manuals?

How do I figure out how to hook up my 60" deck? Looks like some bolts/pins may be missing. Some of the attach points look obvious, like the 3 bolt brackets on each side, but the rest I'm not sure about.

I saw some deck manuals on ebay. How do I know which deck I have? There appear to be multiple 60" decks with slightly different numbers.

I'd like a temp and oil pressure gauge, I'll do some searching but figure this is something that's common.

Do you know about how old that B7100 is? There's a considerable difference in the early ones vs. the later models; both were good; just different. Of course, I bought my 1995 B7100 new so I got the Owner's Manual with it, and I would highly recommend that you try to obtain that. If you can't find it on the Internet, you should contact a dealer. Do you have a front end loader? And if so, which model? I did not buy the Workshop Manual or the Illustrated Parts List for the B7100, but I did buy them when I bought a 1999 B2710. They go together, are quite expensive, but very good.

I did not like the lack of a temperature gauge on the B7100, but as the factory rep told me, "if it gets hot, you'll hear it whistle". That never happened with mine. You know it had no water pump or coolant recovery jug which was new to me at the time.

Hope you enjoy that tractor, and welcome to Tractorbynet.

Oh yeah I was told it's a 1994 by the previous owner. 3 cylinder 16 hp diesel dual range 4WD HST.

No, it did not come with a bucket. It came with a Kubota 60" MMM (mid mount mower is what MMM seems to mean from reading) and some non-Kubota attachments.

Wow, no water pump or recovery jug. That is bizarre, I'll try to keep my auto knowledge from getting in the way here!

Thanks, I'll work on finding those manuals.

I'm sure that 1994 is the same as the 1995 I had. But I had the B1630C front end loader and no MMM. I used a Bush Hog RTS40 tiller and a Bush Hog SQ48 brush hog, a cultivator plow, and a middle buster, but back then I had a Cub Cadet lawn tractor for my finish mowing. And in 1995, the thermosiphon system with no water pump was new to me, too.

wow great, i'll PM you!

the 60" MMM had all the mounting hardware removed, the brackets, arms and everything. i think i figured it out though. i mowed with it yesterday even though some bolts/parts are missing. i'll replace those shortly.

nice work on the power steering. i have a welder and would love an excuse to buy a cutter, but that kind of custom work is over my head! awesome job.
