Tractor
Kubota L4760
After changing my mind quite a few times while trying to decide which tractor to purchase (BX25->B2320->B2620) and after some not too difficult "up selling" on the part of my wife, I was finally able to make up my mind and decided to purchase the B2620 TLB.

After about 2 weeks of waiting for some parts to come in, my new B2620 tractor finally setup and delivered this past weekend. I ended going with the LA346 FEL, BH65 Backhoe w/thumb, BX2750D 50" Front Mounted snow blower w/quick hitch, 40-amp high capacity alternator (I'm going with a Sims hardtop cab), and an engine block heater.

I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but as soon as some of the snow starts to melt I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time in the seat this year.

Congratulations on your new tractor; nothing quite like it. What is even better is the more you use it, the better you will like it.

Actually, I bought it for a number of reasons. Primarily I needed something better for snow blowing after all the snow that we got this year. Even with the chains on the garden tractor I have now, it just wasn't cutting it going up the steep hill that we live on.

Honestly, I was just expecting way too much from it, and the result is that the snow blower is pretty beat up after just one season of use. It was fairly obvious to us that we needed something better equipped to get the job done. In addition, my wife is just too small to handle the manual (lift) controls of the snow blower that we have now, so the hydraulic/electric controls on the Kubota will allow her to use it when I'm on a trip (she had been struggling with our old walk behind snow blower every time it snowed.)

Also, we've been spending thousands (probably close to $30k to date - no joke on the amount) paying folks to work on yard, and no matter how much we spend it still never seems to get finished or worse, turn out the way we want. My wife and I decided to get the tractor (which is why she talked me into adding the backhoe) and to just take our time and do the work ourselves from now on.

We'll be starting with our side yard that needs to be cleared and leveled. Anything, the tractor is not capable of, we'll just rent what we need right from the dealer that we bought the Kubota from.

And will I have fun with it this year - no question about it! :)

LOL! I'm glad you noticed - I wasn't sure about posting it since I never see too many people in the pictures with their tractors. Thanks!

I don't have any pics with me on the tractor because my wife already thinks I am pretty weird for taking pics of a tractor to start with.

BTW Congrats on the new tractor, I am sure that it will do most of what you want, you may just need to be patient with it.

I'm in the same boat. I realized that with all the money I was spending paying others to work on my property, I could afford my own tractor, and save money...while having lots of fun at the same time!

Congratulations!!!!!!!! Nothing like the experience of a new shiny Orange Kubota tractor arriving on ones property as a new pernanent member of the family. Just don't call it a she.:)

In that second picture you look like a proud new papa!:)

Very nice.

Just don't call it "she". JohnThomas already reprimanded me for that when I got my new B3300.

Tractors must be refered to by MANLY names!!

Ha ha! It's funny you mention that since all our cars usually end up with names.

However, don't worry about the Kubota getting any "she" references. The only time our vehicles get female names is if it belongs to my wife. Everything I own definitely has "manly" names! :)

You probably won't believe me, but my wife was the one who grabbed the camera in the first place and started taking pictures the second the truck pulled up in the driveway with the new tractor. Not only that, but she posted everything to Facebook right after we walked in the house.

Based on that, I anticipate that I'll definitely have no shortage of pictures to share this summer if she keeps it up! :)

She named tractors are "Girlie" tractors.:) They stay in the garage and always smell good and are always clean and "pretty". Smelling good, clean and pretty are fine but not a TRACTOR!!!:laughing:
Ask Tim the Toolman about calling a tractor a she!:)

Congratulations ! I see you bought from Ahearn....... they seem like very good folks. I dealt with Josh (I hope I'm getting his name right) once on a used piece of equipment ........... and left a happy customer. I got the grand tour of the place, and I like their videos. Good luck with the new tractor .......the 2620 is the sweet spot of the 2X20 series tractors IMO. You are gonna dig that front blower...... even more when you get a cab on it. Given any thought to the Curtis? They are made right in Worcester, aren't they? Please post more pics as your projects start !

I can certainly believe it as my wife gets about as excited as I do when we are getting a new tractor. She drives "her" BX2660 and I rarely even get near it anymore. When I am running our M8540, she often drives our L5030 HSTC pulling the bushhog/rotary cutter.

Thanks. Yes, it's Josh (sales) and his brother Jeremy works in service (I think.) However, I mostly deal with the other sales person there - Peter. I've always been treated very nice when I stop by, and over the years I've bought a number of things from them (and no complaints on anything I've purchased there.)

As for the Curtis cab, yes, I actually wanted to buy one. I even had it on order from Ahearn until I found out that it would have been too high to fit in my barn, which only has a 7' door. It turned out to be 84" tall installed, but I only have clearance for 82" directly under the door. I ended up having to have Peter cancel the order.

I even looked at going with the Laurin cabs, but again, they're also too tall. It turns out the Laurin cab is approximate 85" installed with R4 tires I have. The only option left to go with is the Sims (even though it's fairly expensive for what you get) since it's ~79" installed and will provide plenty of clearance in and out of the barn for me.

Given the price of shipping keeps going up (my guess is due to the rising gas prices), I'll probably end up ordering the cab tomorrow.

Okay, I'm starting to get tractor envy now! I could only imagine the damage/trouble I could get into with the choice of tractors like you have! :)

Great picture BTW! Thanks for posting.

Congratulating on the tractor. As for the Curtis I would go for it you just are going to have to add a new tractor garage to the list of projects.

Nice tractor I just got mine before xmas only with a rear blower and mechanical thumb. But was a horror story from day 1 it arrived late in thevening getting close to -20 ended up popping the left rear tire from the bead no air 3 tires where actually flat and the back hoe mounting pins where installed from the out side had to again remove the rear wheels to re intstall pins to remove back hoe. I was a bit upset and let the dealer know . their PDI's need some eye balling big time. other then the shakedown cruise been ok think tire chains are the answer on rear wheels for blowing and maybe the 64 inch blower is abit big for the machine if its warmer today -28 at the mo will dig out my other wood pile
