Out of the snow?? Looks to me like it's parked in snow. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Sure is a nice looking garage though.

Wow! It's amazing how fast that went up. Less than five minutes throught posts, and it's done!!
Seriously, that's REALLY nice. You DID you it right. Don't you have to pay a lot more in taxes since you made it connected to the house? Probably worth it though since you won't have to go out to get in. Thanks for the posts so far. John

Chris, what are the dimensions. I am in the process of designing/building a garage/guest house. How big are the garage door's? I was thinking of 7X12's times 3. What are the WXDXH. I was thinking of 45' X 30' X 9' tall. Thanks, Rat.

Nice garage Chris. I always say a man's garage should be as big as his house or bigger. What size is yours? Is there going to be a room upstairs?

That's the ticket! A guy has his priorities in order when the garage is at least as big as the house- bigger than the house is even better /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Scrounger,

I am In Saratoga County, not that far from snowmobile country. The Garage size is 36' * 28' and yes their is enough room upstairs for a future hobby room or studio apartment. The Garage doors are 9'. Enough to get the tractor in. Its been so cold here, -15 tonite..the air nail guns and compressors wont run so I will wait for the framers to come out of hiberination.

Nice Garage Chris,

I noticed the top of the trusses are "clipped", yet the roof line extends all the way up, why? and how? If you don't mind expanding our (my) knowledge base...

TIA
Dart

The trusses have another section to make the roof line added after the fact.

Chris,
That is one nice playroom...eerrr.. I mean garage, of course.

We are looking to start in April a 4/5-car detached garage w/ apartment over. We will not finish apt for 2+ years, but will use garage right away. I've seen a lot of opinions on composition and reinforcement for the concrete, and was wondering what you selected and why. Right now, I'm considering 5,000#, +/- fiber, +/- gas entrained, w/ some sort of reinforcement. What are your thoughts?

Keep the pics coming, and thanks.

Tracdoc,

I've never heard of "gas entrained" in concrete or anything else. What is it, and what does it do?

Thanks,
Eddie

Chris, great looking addition. Thanks for sharing the pictures, I'm enjoying them.

I was always under the impression 5,000 lb. mix was used for bridges and the like. For whatever reason I thought this mix sets up quicker than say a 4,000 lb Mix, which is what I have always used.

I have some fiberglas reinforced concrete but I still like the good ole rebar in concrete.
