Hmmm. So a stiffer high rated tire with many plys can contain the rising internal air pressure more than a low rated low ply tire? Maybe there is more to this than JUST the amount of PSI is in a tire.

I heard they are doing away with those expensive scales at the weigh stations along the highway - they finally realized they can just check the tire air pressure on the trucks.

As a mechanical engineer, I am enjoying this thread. Great looking driveway, been wanting to do that on my road for years, but it's too long a road for me to justify the cost. Q
