Since the wife let me buy my tractor, and is pretty tolerant when I start the " I need another attachment" foolishness, we got a little something for her. She's a cutie! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Polecat! 14 month old QH. Good breeding too, if I do say so. Has a few known cutters and ropers in the bloodline. We'll get her under saddle and finished and maybe Sarah will train for barrels. If she matures well, we'll probably breed her in a few years. Always fun having foals around! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif She's a nice addition to the herd (Tobiano Paint, Anglo Arab, Palomino QH).

Been burning up the B7800 and the phd already getting our property ready for her and the rest of the boys. I'll post more pics as the pastures progress and Lola meets the boys! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Horses... a sickness there's no cure for...thankfully!

Well Polecat, the only thing I really still need is the BH. Course I don't know if I have the space to keep all the horses I'd have to buy to pay her back for THAT! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Always good to find another equine fan. Get your horse pics scanned and posted, I'd love to see your herd! You fancy a certain breed or are you like us...as long as they're healthy and have four hooves they're OKAY by us! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As an incentive to get you to post, here's a pic of the rest of our herd. Besides Lola (the filly), there's Cirrus my Anglo Arab, that's him and me in the top pic, Gusto, the Paint my wife is riding in the second pic, and Sonny our Palomino QH.

Thank goodness we don't have more land, four is about all we have time for! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Like the rest of us, looks like he enjoys a cold one at the end of the day! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good looking boy! Must have taken the pic a few months ago...looks like he's still carrying some of his winter fuzz. If you find a pic of the sorrels, I'd like to see it. There's a bright sorrel Arab gelding at the barn where we're boarding right now that will take your breath away. Always been partial to sorrels, but never have owned one.

It's not for everybody, but fooling around with horses is one of the best ways to spend a day outdoors I can think of! Can't wait until our 10 acres are done and they're out back!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

MFL.... nice looking herd. My wife and I have 5 horses. The oldest of 17 years is 3/4 arab with 1/4 QH gelding (the QH portion is in his stomach region which makes him look like a pregnant mare with the narrow Arab shoulders and hind quarters) loves to run.... I took 1st place in novice spped events on him. My wifes' pride and joy is her double registered Palomino QH gelding at 15 years.... which was trained and used for hippotherapy... very very gentle and a great western pleasure horse. We also have 2 - 7 year olds, a sorrel QH mare that was used for "heeling" and also used in the local mounted police... virtually bomb proof. The other 7 year old was gelded after we breed him to the mare... he's a Tobiano Overa paint... with 2 blue eyes (16.1 hands)... gorgeous animal... has Thourobred background (Three Bars), but definately has QH in him... strong jaw bone definition. The 5th is our 2 year old Filly, Sorrel with a blaze. She's about 14.1 now and still growing. She's like a puppy and will let you do anything you want and will follow you anywhere you go. Horses are great stress relievers.

Poncho, sounds like you have the fever as bad as we do! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Sounds like your QH-Arab and my Anglo_Arab have a lot in common. Cirrus is 16 years old, but you wouldn't know it when you're riding. If I'd let him, he'd spend all his time under saddle at a canter! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The Arab side also keeps him from having to drink very often. I've checked with our vet and he says it's normal. When my wife and I trail ride with friends, we'll usually have about 4-5 water stops over the course of a 6-7 hour ride. Even though I'll offer him the water at each stop, Cirrus will drink maybe once, if at all. Healthy and willing, the boy is bullet proof! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Post a few pics, I would love to see the herd!! I would especially like to see the Overo Paint. While my wife loves paints, she isn't partial to blue eyes or bald faces...two characteristics I really like! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Look forward to seeing the herd!

Happy trails.
