Kubota M7040 cab/hyd shuttle - current, Kubota L3400 - traded
Just got off the phone with a dealer in Southern Ontario.

For a
- B7800 $18100
- loader $4700
- 60" MMM $3550
- rear snowblower $1700
- loading tires $400

Total $28430 + GST and PST.

For a B3030 with the same equipment
$32400 + GST and PST

He claims ths list price of the 7800 is 19100 and he is pricing it at 18100 and the list price of the 3030 is 21200 and he is pricing it at 20200.

These sound incredibly high compared to what our cousins in the south are paying.

How do these compare to the prices the rest of you Canucks are paying?

I took delivery yesterday of a new 3130HST with LA723 FEL and BH90 backhoe. I know it's a different machine, but if it helps, here are the prices quoted and what I paid.
Tractor - list 23700
FEL - list 5990
BH - list 10990
Total list price - 40680. I was offered a straight 10% off this for cash. Although my land is ALR registered, I don't have a farm card so paid both GST and PST on the purchase, an addition of 14%.

I got it down to 38900 which included all taxes, the skid steer quick release system on the loader and delivery to Saltspring island, a good 4 hours each way from the dealership. I shopped around Kubota dealers and negotiated over a couple weeks. I was patient, took my time and slept on every decision or counteroffer. At the end of the day, the best offer came from the dealer who I thought was most ethical and whose service was timeous and attentive.

Just priced a B7510 with the 302 loader for 17,900 + taxes last week and 2 weeks ago a B7610 with the 352 loader for 19800 + taxes. Those prices seem right in line for South-Eastern Ontario. The mowers are all 3000-4000 depending on size, etc. I think the dealer should be loading tires at minimal cost as part of the deal and considering the craptastic financing Kubota is offering us Canucks.

Basically all anyone wants to deal around here is list price minus about 7-12 percent maximum.

Best of luck.

This spring I bought a used L5030 HSTC with loader and industrial tires in the US for about 33000$ Canadian.

I could buy new for the same price now cause the dollar has improved. Also found some much better used prices since then. Could find used for 28000$ Canadian now with some patience.

What is involved in importing a tractor?

I accept that we would have to pay PST and GST - what about duty?

Canucks just seem to have much higher prices than our neighbours.

Regards.

I bought an ARGO 6x6 a few years back in Ontario and brought it back to the states. No duty was paid as it fell under the Free-Trade Act ( according to the customs official ). If you were to purchase a Kubota in tax-free NH and brought it up North, you may not have to pay duty. Do the Canadian Customs collect sales tax? With your high tax rates, it seems worth while to rsearch.

Pharmguy, I highly recommend you go to the Outdoor Farm Equipment Show in Woodstock. It starts today. The dates are Sept 13 - 15. This is the must goto show for pricing new tractors. Lots of dealers and all of the regional sales managers are there. Tell the the Kubota sales manager you are ready to buy and you want USA pricing. If you can not get to the Farm Show go to the International Plowing Match next week in Listowel.

I just picked up my mail and in there was the Kubota Canada Fall Blowout flyer. You may want to pick up a copy at you local dealer.
