Nice tractor and a good size for a lot of jobs. What does your new tractor weigh with ballast?

Nice tractor and a good size for a lot of jobs. What does your new tractor weigh with ballast?

Here's my estimate:

5400lbs - tractor
1500lbs - 553 FEL w/bucket
1200lbs - rear tires filled

Appx 8100lbs total.

That's my math from piecing it all together. If anyone estimates otherwise, let me know!

A lot better than the 5800ish lbs my old 5103 clocked in at!

Congrats on the new Tractor!!
You're gonna love the thing shortly. I never thought I would, but dangit, Deere the last two generations absolutely right and spot on.
Even got me over my hatred of electronic controls over mechanical levers.

The whole power reverser thing WILL take some time. Especially when doing precision stuff, like backing up to hitch up.
Go slow, and develop a routine...sort of.

You'll screw it up, stomp the clutch, flip the lever and then back off without thinking and then BOOM, the grabby clutch will wake you up.;)
It happens, and gets worse when you're switching between several tractors.

Then the other thing happens.
Ya jump in the truck, fire it up, and then **** near rip the turn signal stalk off the column trying to flip a reverser that ain't there, or find that your other tractor is missing a lever all of a sudden and cornfusion sets in.

That's exactly what happened when I lined up to back the tractor into the shop after the dealer delivered it! Next thing I know, I'm almost taking out the door frame of my shop with my new tractor!

Good to hear this is a common "problem" when one gets a PR tractor, and I am not alone! :D

What are your tires loaded with? 16.9 - 28s ? I'd guess 1400lbs

Yes, 16.9x28's. Water and anti-freeze... so I figured a little on the lower side as we do not get hard freezes down here very often. Thus, I assumed my dealer went heavier on the water than the anti-freeze, ha!

But hey, I will take more weight! :)

I would like to run by a scale sometime to see what the total weight is, for sure, though.
