John Deere 4520 Cab
Just ordered a new John Deere 4520 cab to upgrade from a 4120 open station. Planned on ordering a 4320 but the dealer said there was a wait until January, so we figured it was worth the extra horsepower and the dealer kept the price as close as they could to the 4320. I remember reading it's worth the jump to the 4520. Pictures will follow, the tractor is at the dealer but still waiting on the 400cx loader. Ordering the Electro-Hydraulic 3rd SCV kit with it too as they said they can no longer be ordered with the manual arm. We will be installing the kit because they want $1,100 labor to install it so we will see how tough it is. $900 for the EH 3rd SCV alone. We will be running a grapple with this setup, should work out nicely!

I just put in the electrohydraulic 3rd SCV kit on my 2011 model 4120.

Tips -
1. My kit came with an elbow and a straight fitting that you didn't need. They go on the tractor side of the two hard lines you run to the SCV. My tractor already had the right fittings to connect the factory hard line that you remove to install this kit. If you can avoid replacing them you will save some time.

2. The hard lines and the valve itself were easy. Running the wiring harness is what was difficult. The instructions were very good, but the skipped some detail on how to run the harness up to the tractor's fuse box and to the ground screw on the front left side of the engine. The harness is just long enough to run up front. Don't zip tie the harness down until the end. I was doing it as I went and ended up cutting several off to run it a different way when I found out the harness was just long enough to get to the front.

3. Plan 3 to 4 hours to do it. I had a 3 year old helper so you may go faster.

You will like the 4520 and the cab is great too. I have a 110tlb which is the same power as your prior 4120 and you will definately notice the difference in power with the new tractor. Enjoy
