It occurred to me yesterday--that's the answer to one of the classic questions--why buy Orange, over Green? So that your tractor doesn't just blend in with the terrain, but stands out so that all your neighbors know that you bought a tractor--and are then able to properly envy you.

:O))

Good looking tractor...

Why'd you go with a 60" mower? I've a 60" Befco too...you'll like Befco!

But your tractor could easily handle a 72" mower. I got mine as a package deal with a smaller Deere (a '91 670). which did great.
Now that I've a 790 (8 more PTO Horse power), a 72" unit would be a great match.
Your Kubota has around the same, or a bit more PTO HP then my 790...you might want to talk to your dealer about trading up the 60" Befco to a 72" unit before you put any hours on it.

Enjoy the pretty orange machine...blends in well with the leaves this time of year!

Your new package looks good. Is there any way I could get some more shots of the front blade set up, how it attaches to the tractor to the blade. I am debateing on trying to build one or buy one since snow could fly before I get-r-done

I think the green gobblins hit your new machine. I actually think I can see it better now in the woods.

Nice machine, welcome to the forum. Post some action pics and above all, BE SAFE. Have fun...Kyle

That is a real nice setup, we have a 3130GST with LA723 and it is sweet, but alas now is the time to stop taking photos and go get to work!!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I received my L3130 two weeks ago and love it. The other attachement that I have is the quick attach forks that I have found to be of great benefit cleaning up downed debris from 2 hurricans. Really easy to change and can load without getting down and manually putting tree debris and logs into the bucket.

Enjoy, I sure am enjoying mine!

I definitely considered quick attach and think I might do that at some point--it would be great to have pallet forks, if only for moving implements-on-pallets around.

Wow, someone snuck onto my property w/a green can of spray paint. Rotten scoundrel! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: the 60" mower, rather than 72". Yeah, 72" makes a lot more sense for the field mowing, which is a big chunk of what I'll use the mower for. But I'm also planning (hoping?) to put in a vineyard at some point, and have the row spacing all figured out. I want to be able to have grass in between rows of vines and the 72" mower would probably be too wide, given the spacing that I'm planning. But Kubota & 60" RFM should fit nicely.

3130 definitely feels beefy (IS beefy). Sure feels good to have this much weight/power. Now I have something that can yank some visitor's car out of a snowbank--a not uncommon thing in Minnesota, especially living at the end of a long gravel driveway up a hill. I grew up on a similar property in MN (gravel road, long hill) and my Dad had to pull folks out of ditches every couple of years or so (old John Deere model from the 30's).

My first big challenge is in figuring out a system for storing the 3pt auger. It's not possible to set it down, since the auger & pto shaft can swing, pinching against the top shaft. Also, I'd like to have a system that stores the entire unit such that the spacing between top link and lower links is preserved, to make it fairly easy to hook back up again. Since the top link can swing, and the unit seems very heavy, I suspect that it would be hard to hook back up without some mounting stand/system to fix it in place.

My plan for the auger is to build a swingset-style assembly w/2 A-frames and a beam, and then suspend the entire auger w/a couple straps or come-alongs, with the beam parallel to the top link. Not knowing where the center of gravity is, I figure I can just strap it in 2-3 places, to make sure it won't swing when I start pulling pins.. Anybody else have any thoughts, or anybody ever deal with dismounting an auger before? Dealer suggested just augering a hole and leaving it in the hole, but admitted that it would rust like heck and that the top link would still be pretty unmanageable (heavy)..

Nice machine Sean. I have a similar tractor and it's quite a machine. Sold my old 1952 AC WD w/trip bucket. Never realized how much fun it can be when you have a good loader, 4WD, HST, etc. I added a home-made guard on the FROPS to keep debris from hitting me when bush hogging. Enjoy this tractor so much have to include a picture. Have fun.

I sure like the added protection of the screen/guard in the ROPS--nice..

I did a search on the forum relating to storage of PH digger and now realize that it's a much-discussed topic. I think I'll end up hanging it from overhead beam.

"I sure like the added protection of the screen/guard in the ROPS--nice.. "

You can make one of these up pretty easily with a few square feet of expanded metal and some smaller angle iron welded on for attaching it to the ROPS. A little spray paint (Rustoleum) and you've got yourself a nice barrier against debris thrown by your cutter.

The shape of the ROPS on your Kubota will make the job a bit more difficult, but it won't take more then an afternoon to cut out using a grinder with a cutting wheel. It will be a bit tedius, though.

LOL, I've got the expanded metal and tools to do the job for my 790...sooner or later I'm going to finish it!
