Not sure about your beast comment? It got whipped by the Eco Boost and barely edged out the 10 year old Titan with a 100 less HP. It hunted for gears and could not hold 60 mph, the speed limit, while the Eco Boost could have easily did 20 over and hold 80 mph if they wished.

I really need to stop using my phone to post. Sorry I meant sounded like a beast. Thought the V8 had a nice sound to it. But yes for that being gm's flag ship half ton towing monster it sure failed bad.
Glad I got the ford and didn't wait for the new chevy to release.

Yea, I will agree the GM V8's have a sweet exhaust note but so does my 08 Nissan Titan. My all time favorite is the 360 Moor V8's. They sound sweet!

Let me drive that Silverado. I actually know how to use that 6 speed auto the correct way. It has a manual mode w a paddle shifter on it. I could stay in the RPM range needed without the constant up shift the tranny is programmed to do for mileage purposes. Not pulling. It would boast WAY better #'s if the person driving it would use the option it is equipped with. Loved the way it smoked the tires from a dead stop w the trailer hooked to it.

I agree. The tool driving the truck just put his foot to the floor and blabbered the entire pull.

Honestly, the test was biased toward the non-NA Ford given the altitude. In reality, how many of us tow that much at 12k feet. If I did, I buy a non-NA vehicle too..Real world, however, doesn't require that. My '13 6.2 exhibits none of the behaviors of the 14 as far as excessive upshifting as demonstrated in the video. If it did, the manual override is plenty simple.

I'd still say that the 6.2 did a fine job given the rank amateur in the driver seat.

I wouldn't even going to get into the whole altitude and the Chevy being an internal cam V-8 vs a turbo V-6. Just want to point out that what moron would allow a vehicle to loose speed due to up shifts when u have total control of that. Once you move the shifter one notch, you simply press - or + to gear select and it will even tell you (1-6) what gear you are in at the bottom of the tachometer. Wow. How easy and convenient. I would put my bets on the Chevy if on a drag strip w the same trailer and weight hooked to each truck. The driver did point out in the video how well the tow haul done on a steep descent. Good thing sense he didn't know how to down shift.

It depends on what you want to test. If you want to test how it does in "driven off the lot" mode using the factory settings they did it right.

IMO, if you are doing a head to head test towing up a hill, you should put it in tow-haul mode, then put your foot on the floor and drive it up the hill.
If Chevy hasn't figured out how to program shift points in tow haul mode, its their loss and they should fix it.
