Hi Everyone,

Have to make the repair myself $$$ and I'm a girl...but I usually can figure out things with a little guidance. That's why I'm asking.

I bought a Ford 2000 over two years ago. I hardly use it, just shredding and some post holes. Well I bought it from a guy who used to tell me how to make repairs, alternator, wiring and little things. He sadly passed away :(

Long story short: I replace the fluid with UTF after it was milky and foaming. I believe now it was wrong and I listened to the Sales Guy...So I go out to shred and the lift starts to hiccup and then won't work at all. I lift the shredder up (finally after waiting minutes) and start heading in and notice fluid leaking out the small line into the top of the pump.

I now realize from reading and not doing my homework first  that I probably should have used the FHTF and replaced a filter and cleaned a screen....(I know, quit shaking your heads)

So here are the questions:
Drain the UTF and buy Ford fluid?
Take the INTake? (smaller one) line off and replace "O" ring seal that I blew?
To find the filter and screen I have to take off the seat,
then access plate?

I am appreciating all the help in advance: Thank You.

Get an I&T manual if you don't have one. That will help.

And your plan of attack sounds good.

No apologies needed here just 'cause you are a girl. :)

Thanks, and the manual is on the list of things to buy. I just spent all my extra (if there is such a thing) on getting the front tires foam filled. Cost $239 and 5 days time. Then I had to put $32 of slime in a rear tire with a slow leak. Finally went out shred the pasture.

It's one of those rains it pours things. Everytime I had my days off it rained or I had a front flat. So I was happy with getting my tires done finally. Texas is full of Mesquite so the thorns kill tires. One day I will have some good Hay Growing, more stuff to buy :)

Go to the dealer and ask the shop manager some questions.

The parts desk may make a photo copy of the parts in the area your looking at.:D

it's about 60 miles to the nearest dealer.

Consider making a phone call and talking to the service manager. Also consider some e-mail communication. :D
