New 1705

Hello, I just got a new 1705. Just to double check I was told by the dealer to operate it at about 2500 - 2800 rpms or whatever matches the pto suggested rpms (the green zone on the tach). The owners manual states "operate the engine at full speed". I've been doing this and now have 2 hours on it. The temperature gauge only rises 1/4 of the way, so not running hot. I want this tractor to last. Also I have been using a 6' cultivator from my full size tractor. Is this too much to do with this many low hours? Thanks in advanced for your comments.

I've only got a little over 200 hours on mine but did break it in as suggested by the owners manual. I considered the green zone too be the meaning of full speed per the owners manual. Even though that sounds counter intuitive I trust that the mfg know more about it than I do. Besides, it's backed by a five year warranty.

I ran mine WOT. i was told by the dealer to not let motor bog down when pulling the box blade. I had to shave some knobs down in my yard before seeding it. IF you plan on mowing with it. Always clean the screen thats behind the radiator. If you don't debris will collect and then make the unit run hot. Its easy to clean and something that could be missed if you are not aware of it
