Hello All;

I've been a lurker for a while now. What a great site! I found tons of info about purchasing a new tractor here. Thanks to all for posting your experiences and opinions.

We were looking to replace a 1962 Ford 2000 gasser that has served us well for over 30 years. I learned how to drive on that tractor and is near and dear to all in our family. However, it just seems that it lets us down just when we need it most. Mowing the 80 acres of fields with a brush hog just seems a little rough for it now.

We decided on the MF 1533 after looking at all the brands local to us. We liked the Kubota L3400. It was cheaper but it didn't have a Mid-PTO option. We also looked at a John Deere but they were way too expensive. We knew they would be expensive but they where just out of our range.

The 1533 is a nicer tractor overall than the 3400. And, the 0% for 60 Months was hard to beat.

Here's a few pictures of our 1533. Yes, I couldn't get a pic before I got it dirty.:D

I look forward to reading all of the great ideas on the forums.

Thanks Everyone for the warm welcome!

I was out working on my driveway tonight. I need to cut some drainage ditches on either side and "crown" it a little more. I have almost 800' of driveway on a pretty good hill; when it rains, I have a grand canyon to repair with the box blade. I have to say the 1533 did a great job.
I just seem to find something to do with my tractor every night since I got it.
:D I have almost 25 hours on already and only used a little over 15 Gal of diesel! But, this is mowing season and most of those hours were brush hogging my 10 and my parents 80 acres.

I still can't get over the power this thing has compared to the old Ford. It just doesn't bog down as easy. I think that our old Ford is a little tired and not quite putting out it's rated 36 HP. Also, i think the diesel engine has more torque than a gas engine of similar size.

I just bought my new 1533 about a month and half ago. I went from a 1972 MF135 gas to the 1533. A big jump.

Congrats!! Glad you got it dirty for the pics.

Could you do me a favour? Would you take a pic of the underside of the running board where the step bolts on, and also a close up of the step?

I want to build a couple for out 1523.
