Why is it when i read all these posts about people choosing a compact tractor nobody ever mentions Mahindra. Am I about to make a mistake purchasing one of these instead of a Kubota, John Deere. To me it seems like you get alittle more tractor with the Mahindra. Any thoughts?

the 2015 is a good tractor. If you live in a cold climate you won't be especially happy with its starting. the glow plug timers are not set long enough for cold climate. But other than that they are little tanks

should be good just make sure they have put the upgrade into the glow plugs . I think that cured it for the most part. they have amazing lift cap for a little tractor . are you getting a hydro or gear?

getting a hydro, my only other question is what is your opinion on the 2015 vs the Kioti CK20 HST

I have a 2015 HST, and it does start hard when the thermometer dips below 20 degrees. I used to have to cycle the glow plugs at least three times before I would try and start it.

This fall I bought a Kat lower radiator hose heater off ebay for under 20 bucks. It was a cinch to install, and now I plug it in about a half-hour to hour before I want to start it in cold weather. It fires right up with no fuss whatsoever. Best 20 bucks I ever spent.

I'll have owned it for two years next month. The only problem I ever had was that a banjo fitting under the seat loosened up (it hooked to the valve the runs my remotes) and hytran squirted out all over the place. Two turns of a wrench and it's been fine ever since. I'm very happy with the tractor.

If everyone knew how good a value they were, everyone would have one. Then, we wouldn't feel special anymore. And, we couldn't make fun of all those that bought green/orange/blue and paid too much. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Just kidding, of course. Nothing wrong with green, orange or blue. I am very happy with my Mahindra, though. Just wish I could get more seat time. I plan to play awhile on it this weekend.

Mahindra is a minor brand here in the US. In that respect they are in the same boat as Kioti. You may ask, whats the problem with that? The dealers are not always the best. All Kubota, Deere, NH dealers that I have seen are tractor/lawn tool dealers. Some of the dealers (not all or even most) for the minor brands may be 'JOE's USED CARs and TRACTORS'. I guess what I am saying is, getting a good dealer for one of the 'big 3' is almost a given. You must interview your dealer with an off brand. I understand Kioti has taken steps to correct that for them. I found a good Mahindra dealer and am unaware of any change in their dealer network/policies.

Yes, I agree on the dealer issue. I like my 5005 (and it starts great on cold mornings) but the place I bought it from no longer orders anything from Mahindra and I guess has been or will be dropped as a dealer. They will still work on it as they have the manuals and what-not (which thanks to Bobg in VA, so do I /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) but my closest dealer is now ~90 miles away. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Luckily the place I bought it from is REAL good to work w/ and they have done some major stuff recently (return hyd line stopped up and toasted a pump). Also, even w/ the major repairs I am still $$$ ahead over a JD, NH or Kubota.
