Neighbor checked by sheriff every day

Have the same thing going on in our neighborhood. House gets a daily visit from local police. Last winter a SUV pulled onto main road and proceeded to drive directly into a large tree. Visits started about a week later.

I have seen it going on for a while now. No, it is not my business at all, but anybody has an idea what does it mean? Every morning the sheriff's deputy shows up in police cruiser and drives to neighbors house. Never gets out of the car, sometimes sounds a buzzer to get attention. The deputy leaves in 5 minutes or so to show up next morning.

Now, for a foreigner with no clue, does it mean somebody is out on parole and deputy makes sure he is home?

It may very well be your business. It is in your area and could affect you. It would seem you have very valid reason to at least ask. Very well remember coming home one evening to see many law officers and I called one department: nothing to worry about. The person the man hunt is on for is not thought to be dangerous. OK, so why the man hunt with helicopters?

Did not see any mention of any one coming out to him.

Your county may have a web site that gives you arrest info and such. You may find out you have neighbors you rather not. Don't trust some web sites that tell you this info. Per one I stumbled across had some real bad dudes living behind my house where there was no house or road.

I would really be surprised if the office minded telling you what is going on with it being across the road from you. If you rather, just give his department a call.

I am with kthompson on making it your business.

I had a cop in my driveway with his lights on. Another car in front of him. Could not see from the house what really was going on. So I hop in the RTV turn my lights on and go check it out.

Just a traffic stop. But the cop liked the fact I checked up on everyone.

(Now why the dimwit who got pulled over into my driveway is another story)

I think they would appreciate a concerned citizen.

ASK. You are entitled to an answer if it is a sheriff. All you are required to offer is that it has you concerned based on your observation.
