Thanks, Mike

Not sure about your tractor but my 186D takes 90wt. gear oil in the front axel.

According to the service manual it takes 7.4 qts of 90WT.

Yes it is.

My tractor came to me so full it spewed all over when I took the dipstick/plug out and I drained about 3 qts out so maybe use the dipstick as the guide don't know what it holds for sure but that gets you started?

Wow....that is a lot of lube. My 186D takes 3.2 qts. I just changed the oil a few weeks ago. When you check the level.....don't screw in the dipstick. Should be at the full mark without being screwed in. Good luck.

You cant trust anything any more although the manual says quarts I suspect it means pounds which is a lot less more like a pint in volume all lost in translation from Japanese is my guess?

The 336 was a us sold machine. I would think the manual should be correct.

My 336 manual states 8.5 qts for front drive gear case

I have a 336D and have changed the oil twice. I used a 80/90 wt. oil and it took about 2 gallons.
