That's almost clever, is that a shaker siphon hose putting in new oil? now what to do with all that used hydraulic oil?

Yes, new oil going in. The fill port is in a hard to reach place - even with a funnel. Just not having to hold up the bucket is a big help. A pump would work and be faster but this syphon works fine for me. I use 10 Wt . 30 wt, I don't know - would be OK if it was warm enough.

Used oil goes to the county recycle shed in the next town over.

After letting it settle out for awhile in the tub, I put the hydraulic oil back into the used 5 gallon buckets, and actually used it to help flush the system on the RTV when it got water in it. Then used the water contaminated oil for burn piles and the cleaner stuff I use in the winter to cut the chainsaw bar oil so it flows better.

Guess you found some multiple uses for used hyd. fluid, I also use it in chainsaw and put on outside wood to hold off rot.

I have one of those siphon hoses, for some reason never occurred to me to try it on hyd. fluid, thought it was fuel only, I'll try that next time I change my hyd. oil, been 200 hrs since I changed it, I used that same Shell hyd. oil, thought it was thicker viscosity then TSC oil, thinking it might slow my gears down faster, didn't notice any difference, I'll go back to TSC brand.

What you suppose the recycle shed, next town over does with the used oil?
