need to add rear hydraulics to a 444 international tractor

I want to add a rear hydraulic valve and outlet to the rear of my 444 international tractor. The tractor has factory 3-point, hydraulic power steering, but no auxillary valve. At one time there was a kit that would make this possible, but it is an obsolete part from international and no longer available. Is there a way to plumb into the existing hyd lines, add simply add a valve? If so, which line would be tapped into and how is it identified<

Try asking over in the hydraulics forum. they may know of a kit that will work. Also there are several sites on the net specializing in IH equipment. One is the red power magazine web site. A Google search gave me a lot of hits to look at using your title.

Is there a loader? If so, tapping into the lines will be easy. If not, is the hydraulic pump up front on the tractor and can you locate the pressure line to the 3pt? Some tractors have a separate pump for the power steering. There should be no problem adding a generic spool valve into the system, you will just have to be creative on how and where you mount it.

You may want to try contacting some salvage yards. Here is one listed in the salvaged tractor list at TractorHouse. http://www.tractorhouse.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=6818877 I see a single remote on this one. There are 16 in all
=44www.tractorhouse.com/list/dismantledsearch.aspx?ETID=3&Manu=INTERNATIONAL&Mdltxt4&mdlx=exact , but this one above is the only one, of a few that shows a picture from the rear.

Case/IH parts store online shows dual remotes were an option. A single is nice, duals are pretty sweet to have.

You could contact the salvage yard, and see if the entire hyd remote assy is intact, including the control(s). Should bolt right up, and you'll have an OEM system.

Unless you find a tractor in a salvage yard with an auxiliary valve set up, you may have to order the parts on a piece by piece basis from your dealer. It will require a power beyond cover, a valve and linkage, hoses, and quick couplers. If I remember correctly, the control valve and power beyond cover are located under the seat with the operating lever protruding from under the seat. Also from memory, the standard hydraulic pump GPM is low since it was designed to only power the 3-point hitch and the power steering and will be slow for operating hydraulic attachments.
