Its been a while since I've posted but I've been lurking around and need some help and advice. I picked up a MT2001D that appears to be in pretty good shape. I guess from what I've learned is that its a grey market tractor. I guess I'm going to be needing shop and parts manuals for it. Where are the best places to look for them? I've read that sometimes your limited to getting manuals and parts for a comparable US import model. I guess my biggest question would be which model would the MT2001D line up with? Seems to be pretty solid, but are there any weak points on these tractors, or things I need to be aware of or look for? I picked this up for $2K....

I don't think you're going to find a good crossover for the 2001. My MTE 2000D is very similar to a CIH 254/255 but main differences are PTO speeds and K3F engine VS. K3E in U.S. models. I will bet that there are many parts on the 2001 that are found on the CIH and Cub Cadet models but close or direct crossover......probably no such thing. $2K is a SMOKING good deal!!! The 4 cylinder engines are especially smooth runners too....you did good!!

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I thought it was fair, considering I was leary about getting parts if needed. I called Valley Power for manuals and he said he thought maybe the D2001 or the MT210 would be close. I like the smooth K4D engine and this thing has 3 PTO speeds. Meter shows about 670 hours but I kinda doubt it from the things I've read.

My first order of business is to filter and oil it. Then I'm going to refresh all fluids and put in a new fan belt. I bought it with the intent on using it in the woods to clean up trails where my big new holland just doesn't fit. I'd like to try and fabricate some type of cow pusher to the front end to scoot brush and limbs out of the way while clearing trails. Any idea about rops for these things?
