I got the new collars today from Rob. Now I'm just waiting for the mount for the controls to be done and I should be ready to put everything back together and mow.

Rob did a beautiful job on the collars. They look better than the origional ones!

I'm starting to get excited now.

Here is a photo I took yesterday of your new cable sleeves. The one in the center is the original. The new ones are made of aircraft grade aluminum. Four of the new ones are 1/2" longer and two are 1/4" longer. As soon as you call me to tell which thread it is (either 5/8"-18 or 16x1.5mm)
Rob-

Rob I got to say that you did an outstanding job there sir. I'm IMPRESSED, big time!

I got to also say that it's great that you helped Cyril out. A good machinist with a big heart. Very rare to see these days. Hat's off to you sir. Paul

Thank you Paul.
It was not a hard, nor time consuming project.
To be honest, I did ask Cyril to send me some $$ to cover the cost of the 36" billet aluminum bar, and postage....which he did in record time (cash too:)). That was very nice of him to do. He told me over the phone that the collars fit, so I too am waiting for him to get his mower going.

There have been many instances where TBN members help each other.
I've been on the receiving end many times, as well as the giving end. Things like this are what make us a good "community". I know Cyril will "pay it forward" to another member when he can, just like I did.

Update:
Still waiting on the mount for the controls.

i noticed that you said the Boom had larg amount of loosnes in it and you would have to mow just hovering it above the ground. I was just thinking that your hydraulic accumilator might have lost its charge and its not holding up pressure anymore while your in the float mode.??

That may be possible, but I think there's more to it than that. The boom has a lot of front to rear play even just hanging in the air. That will be a project to play with next winter.

Ditto. I tell my tractor/machine buddies about the information shared and things people do for each other here on TBN and most of them stare blankly at me like " No one's going to do that"! or "How the heck do they know"? Eventually, they all ask me to post a question concerning one of their problems or I do a search concerning it and come back with their answer and they're amazed. This is truly one of the best resources and THE BEST community on the net!

Rob, you never cease to amaze me. I wish I could just hang out in the shop with you and watch/learn a few things on the lathe and mill. I am 100% self taught and would love to be able to turn out the quality of finished work that you seem to be able to with your eyes closed. In addition, your generosity and willingness to help others is very rare. I always joke about what a good woman Loretta seems to be.....I'd say she found her match.

Hi Darryl,
That is a mighty nice thing to say. Thank you so much.
And you are correct, Loretta is an awesome gal to be with. Now we just got to get Cyril and his mower going so we can see how he uses it.
Cyril, you are gonna post photos for us, right?
