Need some help troubleshooting hydraulics

Check the quick connectors if your tractor has any. They are without a doubt the number one hydraulic problem on compact tractors. They become disconnected which stops the flow. They may look like they are connected and not be, so check each of them. They may seem like they are seated when pulled on and they may look like they are seated but they may not be. I have seen tractors that had to have all of them disconnected and reconnected just to find the one with the problem.

I assume you are referring to quick connects on hydraulic hoses. This tractor doesn't have any. It has only 2 lines, the one-piece hard steel pressure line with special connections on each end, and the return line which is also steel with special connectors, but has a short section of rubber hose in the middle. I don't have any aux/remote attachments, just the 3ph. I can attach an image tonight is necessary.

Has the suction screen been cleaned?

Jerry, I'm not sure what you mean by "suction screen". I have the return line filter removed. If there is a screen inside the reservoir or on the pump, I have not cleaned them.

However, today I unhooked the shredder (should have done this first thing ). I was then able to move the lift arms easily. Still no hydraulic power, but I was able to move them up and down manually. So then I started the engine and loosened the high pressure line where it attaches to the hitch cover housing. Sure enough, oil squirted everywhere. I just need to make sure of which port to put my gauge in to see if there is adequate pressure coming from the pump. I assume the problem is either the pump or control valve. Does this sound reasonable??
