Well, i jumped off the Bota again to line up the pins. I am ready to investigate the one- piece self-contained hyd.top-link. Would someone tell me about theirs or where is the best place to look?. I believe this would help improve my tractor use. I read back thru the hyd. forum without finding one. Need a little help. Thx. Jy.

Are talking about the HydrauLink? If you are, search for that brand name.

There is not a self contained hydraulic top link that can exert force. If you want the ability to use the top link to pull up or push down you have to have a power source. The HydrauLink is an adjustable top link that also acts like a shock absorber. If you want a top link that is easier to adjust the length than the turnbuckle style then it might be for you. However, it will not work in the same manner as a true hydraulic top link.

I need firm control, with turf tires i have clearance problems at the rear of the tractor. I noticed my tiller dragging at the slightest hole for the tires. If the top is not firm it will droop more on the rear of the implement? Thx. Jy.

Sounds like yur're looking to make hooking up easy(r) ? If you keep the top link lubed up, it will turn with little effort. Maybe one of those quick hitch do dads? Unless you have a tiller that is not the right size for your tractor, I sounds like you need to shorten the top link if the tiller is barely off the ground.

What you need, and are looking for to solve the problems you are exasperated by, hookup ease and dynamic adjustments to adapt to terrain changes, is, plain and simple, a hydraulic top link.

This requires hydraulic ports and control lever to extend and shorten the top link. This is clearly one of the most useful attachments I've added to my tractor. I highly recommend it.

There are many TBN threads which discuss where to get one and how it works...a search will give you many ideas and how to purchase or make one for yourself.

However, as others have said, there is no such thing as a self-contained hydraulic top link.

Nope... I bought a hydraulink and it is self contained. Admittedly its not a traditional hydraulic cylinder. It does not create pressure but I didn't need that. I wanted something easy to hook up and I liked the auto-adjusting. I got what I wanted and it does exactly what they said it would.
