I'm planning on welding up an entertainment center to hold my A/V surround sound equipment to be situated beneath my wall-mounted flatscreen TV. This will hide all those ugly wires and keep my head busy for a day or two. :D I plan on using square steel tubes for the legs and I'm looking for protective caps to fit on the bottom of the legs to keep from scratching the maple floor. Any good source for "feet?" I've seen a some round ones at Lowe's for patio furniture but otherwise I'm drawing a blank.
I will post a pic of my finished project!

Thanks! I googled "plastic feet" and came up with this. The terminology was half the problem (what are those little plastics things...). So they are plastic chair tips!

Agree with the plugs from King, but they have extremely high shipping, or used to anyway. If there is a fencing contractor near by that does ornamental iron they will sell you some.

Well, shipping isn't bad, but it sort of is a minimum type thing...but I'd look around to see what else goodies I could scare up for 20 or 30.00 from them and combine it.

A place that sells castors may have them. I saw them at a castor place here. They were made by Cluthe that also make the multi-bit screwdrivers. They had all kinds of caps and plugs and hand grips etc.

I haven't looked, but McMaster Carr usually has this stuff.

8 Years ago, I had an idea to make a custom shortened scaffold frame, and had a similar problem finding what I needed to complete it. I needed 2 vinyl caps to cover the ends of some square tubes, kind of like a bicycle grip.

No matter where I looked at that time, I could not buy what I needed, unless I bought a large, expensive quantity of them.

I remembered from an assignment many years ago in high school, how willing companies often were to give away things to people who wrote letters to them. So, I wrote a letter to the supplier of the product, and told them I had created a new invention, and needed some samples of their product to complete it.

I received the 2 caps no one would sell me, in the mail a short time later, for free.

What size tubing and wall thickness? How many do you need?
