Need paint to touch up my ratchet rake

Why are you worried about touching up the paint on something that is essentially the cutting edge on a loader bucket?
I totally agree. WHY paint something that is in constant contact with the ground when in use. Unless of course you plan to hang it on the wall and admire it from now on. A bit of rust isn't going to harm the metal, not likely to rust a hole in it like a lawnmower deck. I think lots of folks tend to think like a piece of ground engaging equipment should be shined and polished like a classic car. My thoughts are that if you use it enough it will stay polished and shiny all the time.

I was thinking the same thing when I first responded to this thread. I didn't get it and was going to suggest making sure the bucket was in the air at all times to prevent scratching the paint when moving.

If I was going to paint something like that I would brush it on. Rattle can paint won't last anytime.

I used Cub Cadet "High-Performance Maintenance" paint. Cadet Yellow - 759-3258. It's a good paint and a good match. The only reason I did a touch-up was because I had my 6-ft RR cut down to fit my 5-ft bucket and the two outermost tabs needed to be welded back on to the rake. I primed and painted just the cut/welded areas.

I did the same to mine-moved the 2 brackets in one tooth and cut off the outside tooth off. Fits perfectly and works great. Thanks for the info on the paint.

I must admit I have waxed my tractor.

I've hosed mine down a couple of times in the 17 years I've owned it. Is that the same thing? :D

You can tell by the bucket who really uses their tractor. When there isn't a trace of paint left on the inside and sides of the bucket you can tell someone is getting their moneys worth out of it.
