Tough situation! Now that you have stopped payment (hardball approach), the die is pretty much cast. (how did you manage that on a Saturday?) You undoubtedly feel bad, he probably does too, but this is business. I share Charlie's opinion, but at the same time understand your decision. Seems to me you were reasonable with your monetary concession. The old adage is that posession is 90%...and he now has the truck back.

Legally you may still be in a bit of a pinch, but I doubt, especially given your quick action, that he will want to turn this into a legal tussle any more than you do.

Hope after things cool down that it blows over for you, without too many hard feelings. Good luck Doc.

CBD,

This is a tough one!! Sounds like you're torn by your decision. But, IMHO, you're doing the right thing.

Being a nice guy outside of a business deal is one thing. But, when it comes down to doing business. Some people are Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif I hope that isn't the case...

One of the statements made the dealer just didn't settle very well with me. In one of his statements, he said some to the effect, "that he needed the money for a new building". What does that have to do with the selling of the truck? Another issue is that most people who deal with automobiles know the options. How else could they set a price?

Sounds like you're in for a bit a legal wrangling. I hope it all works out for the best.

Good luck.

Terry
