I removed the oil filter (cartridge type) and it looks like the previous owner got the assembly mixed up. Can someone help me with the order the parts go back into the canister.. From the bottom they had a square oring, washer, spring(which I found inside the cartridge), next the cartridge, followed by a square oring. I think the spring should be on the bottom side of the washer so it doesn't slide up inside the filter, and applies pressure to the cartridge to hold it up against the top oring.
Also not even confident this is correct as I can't see how the bottom of the cartridge is sealed off because the standard washer can allow oil to pass up through the bottom hole of the cartridge bypassing the cartridge filter.
Thanks
The tractor is a MF 135

G'day Mark not sure what tractor you have got but for most cartridge type elements the spring goes in first followed by flat washer, seal, the filter, and seal (if the seals are not built into the filter), just make sure that if your canister has a removable post/bolt that there is a seal on the outside of the canister where the bolt goes through. Hope this helps.
