Oil & Fuel Need Oil Capacity for 2200 Yanmar

Can someone out there tell me how much oil the Yanmar 2200 holds. Just bought one and I want to get the oil changed. Also should the dipstick have marks? No mark found on the one I have so can't tell where the oil should be when measured. I have not been able to get the manuals I need yet. Wanted to be sure I ordered the right ones because they are not exactly cheep. Any help is appreciated

Hi dixieb.My 2200 holds 71/2 qts. that includes the filter.My dipstick is crosshatched and I will get you all the EXACT measurements if you need them.You could just pour in eight qts. and mark your dipstick at that point.By the way my engine had 11,443 hrs. on it , before I had to rebuild it, thought you might like to hear that! Jim

Wow! Have you owned it for most of that history? What sort of service was it in, to put that many hours on it?

California,I don't know the history of my 2200 before 1990.That's when my Dad bought it from a street dealer in South Carolina,I remember that he paid about 2k for it,and it was showing somewhere around 9600 hrs.Dad passed in '95 and left me the tractor.It was showing 443 on it when tach broke in '01,and stayed there untill Feb this year, when I did a complete re-build.I only use it for pulling a 72" Woods mower on my 2.5 acre lawn,and I'll bet that Dad is grinning! It now shows 1479 hrs.,not bad for a 33 yr. old tractor eh? Jim
