Need JD 380X or Similar Plastic Deck Level Gauge Height

I have a JD 380X that came with a black plastic deck level gauge. It's round bottom is about the size of a silver dollar and is perhaps 2.5" tall that you slide under the deck, and adjust the deck to that height all around. Last year while adjusting mine my daughter drove over it. LOL

I cannot find one anywhere, not Ebay, not online. The dealer states he can special order one. Something so simple has become so hard.

Can someone please measure the height of yours and let me know, I'll make my own. It resides under the seat next to the adjustment tool. I would suspect that 3-series are all the same, perhaps more models. .

Hi, thanks. the original tool I'm trying to find the height of looks similar to a black or yellow inverted golf tee (but a larger base) that slides under the deck and the deck is leveled to it.

Just cut out a square 2" cube block of wood. Adjust the deck blades to that 2" and use it to have the front blade edge 1/4" lower than when it points to the rear. Right to left should be the same.

Level to the cutting edge at the tips of the blades.. not the deck edge.
And be certain that none of the blades are bent..

Like been there states, check blade level Vs deck level. On my X540 these are two different levels since the blades are not parallel with the deck. Mine is off about quarter inch. If blades are parallel I will measure my X540 factory height gauge and let you know what it is when it stops raining here.

Im aware of the tool part number, there are none to be found and my local dealer said today it's a special order part. I was just trying to find out the height of the tool. If I can't get it, I will just level the deck to some predetermined height and insure the blades have a slight front-downward pitch. But I would sure like to know the tools height.

Once the deck is leveled per whatever height, then the height adjuster can be used to change it higher or lower. The deck will stay "leveled".

My X500 deck height gauge is the same P/N as your X380. It is 2-3/8 inches tall. Cut yourself two blocks of wood that way when leveling the deck you don't have to keep swapping the tool from side to side.

Some folks have also used a deep well socket that was the same height. Lot's of options before spending $12 on a new piece of plastic.
