1994 Case 580 Super K
Hi all,
Hate to have my first post be one asking for help but...

I picked up a low hour 94 Case 580 Super K for a decent price but it has some issues.
The problem is that the main loader will not lift unless the bucket is curled back. It also wont apply any down force.
There's no noticeable struggle or noise when you push the loader down or pull up.
All the other functions work well.

I've changed the fluids and filters, greased the joints and controls.
No leaks that I can find.

The clam shell works fine as does the curl, and the backhoe functions perfectly.

Before I tear into the the valve assembly I was hoping someone had some insight?

Thanks in advance

Jeff

Does it have ride control ? if so turn it off for down pressure.

I'm not sure if its equipped with ride control.

I know my '88 didn't have it.

I'll have to check

Is the lever hard to move? On my K there's a rod that's for returning the loader to dig. It also prevents the bucket from dumping dirt onto the hood when you raise the loader. It's connected to the loader and on occasion it gets a little rust. When it does the lift control for the loader acts funny. Usually it's just hard to move the stick to raise the loader but I have had other weird stuff happen.

Hmm, the lever is a little sticky. Maybe I'll disconnect it tonight and give it a shot.

Thanks!

Well I checked all the linkage for binding to no avail.
I then pulled the linkage off the lift spool and the lever moves smooth as butter but the spool valve is super sticky. Looks like its going to need to be rebuilt. Has anyone ever pulled thendetent and spool out while still in the stack on the machine?

thanks

I've taken out a few in the backhoe never on the loader but can't see why not. Go for it and let us know how it turns out. The ones I've taken out were on older machines and had some rust and crud in them cleaned them up new 0 rings or ring? and some lube. I've never pulled a stack off a machine.
