Update: Got the CX4600 Friday and have printed about 15 pages with it.
So far:
Painless setup and installation.
Boy, this thing is quiet compared to my old Epson 980.
Tried making a copy of a color photo on plain paper and was pleased with the quality. Since it was plain paper the detail was not as good as a photo but that is to be expected.
Printed out 3 pages of a .pdf catalog and they look just like the .pdf, very good quality. The colors on the screen and the colors on the printed pages are an extremely good (maybe perfect) match. That is a great relief since the old 980 and the screen were always mis-matched.
Printed a 4 X 6 picture on the Glossy Photo Paper included with the printer and it came out very good. The printed version was just a little lighter than the screen version (black came out extremely dark gray) and the faces in the photo were just a little pale but I suspect I can do a little adjusting somewhere and get it closer. The picture was good enough to keep though.
Overall, seems to be an excellent printer. I was really just looking for a printer but the extra features (color copying, scanning, etc.) are a real plus and the price is great especially with $50 in total rebates until 3-31-05.
My thanks to all who helped me make a good choice!
